Lance Stark's Bio

Lance A. Stark

Lance is a 5th-generation Colorado native, born and raised on Colorado Springs’ West Side with historical roots in the community and state. Lance has been married to his wife Shelly for 27 years and has 3 children: Rachael, Luke (a second year AdAmAn guest climber and experienced outdoorsman), and Julia. All have a love for God’s creation and enjoy what He has blessed us with here in Colorado! Both Luke and Rachael have qualified and competed at the Collegiate Nationals rock climbing competitions two years running and his youngest, Julia, is currently pursuing a career in professional ballet.

Lance fondly and respectfully recalls many, in fact, most, of his New Years’ celebrations watching the Club’s mirrors at the A-frame, and midnight fireworks. His family has been longtime friends with members of the AdAmAn club, and Lance later became interested in becoming a member himself.

Lance graduated from Coronado High School and is a CU Boulder graduate. He has been in Colorado Springs for nearly his entire career, working in various management roles in systems, engineering and product development capacities, and has been at Allegion (Schlage lock) for the past 16 years as a Senior Program Manager.

Being a Colorado native, Lance has lifelong experience in most outdoor activities, including, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, skiing (all the way back to when both The Broadmoor and Pikes Peak had ski areas) and of course, mountaineering. He has climbed all but 4 of the Colorado summits over 14,000’, other Colorado peaks, and peaks in Montana, and has been involved in spreading the love of the outdoors to local youth through church clubs, the Boy Scouts, and his children’s schools. Lance is thrilled and honored to be a part of the AdAmAn Club’s rich history, and he looks forward to serving the community and his fellow Club members in the future
