Mac has been active in community service as a volunteer English as a Second Language instructor, teaching students from diverse backgrounds over several years. Mac has summited ~35 of Colorado’s fourteeners. He has also climbed Mount Kenya (17,057 ft), making his highest peak in Africa rather than Colorado. His mountaineering experience also includes attempts on Mount Whitney and Mount Rainier, both of which he turned back on due to weather.
